The Homegrown Harvest Music & Arts Festival!

Our mission here at the Way After Dark Music Group, out of New Orleans, LA, is to promote and celebrate the beauty of humanity, and the makeup of our humanity is revealed in how we express it: Through community, Music, Arts, & Food. We thought the perfect vehicle to express our culture is through the Homegrown Harvest Music & Arts Festival, which unifies, celebrates, and promotes all essential elements of our community simultaneously!

So we are very excited to announce:
The Homegrown Harvest Music & Arts Festival!

Brilliance. Community. Music. Food. Art.

...And we need your support! As we are organizing this festival from the grass roots of our community outward, it takes a push FROM the community to promote and perpetuate our beautifully unique culture in Louisiana.

The Homegrown Harvest Music and Arts Festival will not only showcase our homegrown established musical acts, dancers, chefs and artists, but it will also pave the way for our next generation of unique Louisiana acts and artists. This family-friendly event will unify our many arts and promote the richness of our culture.

Unlike any other event we have seen, the potential artists and entertainers themselves handle the decisions on 'who shall perform on each stage' and be exhibited at the Crafter's Village. This way, we are presenting and introducing new sounds, tastes and sights to those that create them.

With the vast diversity of talent in this state, we feel that this event will be a spectacular display of what Louisiana is all about. The Home Grown Harvest Music and Arts Festival will become the signature cultural event of the year, focused on the very people who make this state great.

SUPPORTING THE MUSICIANS CLINIC

Every musician in New Orleans knows where to go when they need medical assistance: The Musician's Clinic of New Orleans, but due to cuts on funding, the Clinic won't be able to reach out to as many musicians' medical needs this year. As a result, we at Homegrown Harvest name the Musician's Clinic as our formal beneficiary as they will receive a sizeable portion of our profits to keep the Clinc helping more and more musicians in need, which means YOUR contribution will go aid in helping the Musicians Clinic!
What else would my contribution support?

Besides supporting the Musician's Clinic of New Orleans, the work of putting on such a large event comes with costs, but the reward is great! Especially with our recent change of venue that has significantly shortened the window of time to organize certain aspects of the festival, your contributions would go toward Permitting/Licensing, advertising, venue rental, and payment of musicians -- All of these are essential in producing a huge festival

But its MUCH Deeper than that. This is a groundbreaking festival that seeks to set a precedent for many years to come and enrich more communities than just in the state of Louisiana.

Here are just some of the obstacles artists and musicians are faced with every day:
Music and the arts are taken out of schools,
Ever-increasing restrictions on venues and clubs that have live music
Ever-decreasing pay for the musicians at their own shows
Ever-decreasing medical coverage for musicians (due to the funding cuts at the Musician's Clinic

Everybody knows arts and music are essential to life in Louisiana, which means:
***Any donation injects life into communities of Louisiana***
In Summary,

We are doing this for Humanity and what's positive about it. Please share with as many people as you can as your contributions will go a LONG way! Thank you for reading this and supporting theHomegrown Harvest Music & Arts Festival and the New Orleans Musicians Clinic! Hope to see you there September 21-23, 2012!
